21-22 november 2018 OGR Torino
The European Training Foundation, an EU agency set up to support the reform of education systems and to offer access to the labor markets in the countries bordering the EU, organized the conference Skills for the Future: Managing Transition. With the participation of representatives from 50 countries the conference was held over two days at the OGR in Turin. The aim was to explore and share the global trends that shape tomorrow’s education and labor market, with a special focus on skills.
For the event, Wild Mazzini invited Egyptian sand artist Andrew Magdy to create two live data art works. Using only sand, the artist drew on the official data of the conference in a performance that aims to link the impersonal nature of information with the “human nature” to which they refer. In the work, sand is a metaphor for the theme of skills.
